RESTAURANTS

 

Take a seat at the table to enjoy a relaxing lunch break accompanied by good Italian food. It’s possible to enter the two large spaces of Eataly, focused on the rediscovery of regional Italian traditions, starting from the concept of biodiversity, or you can visit Aromatica, a 140 seat  temporary restaurant, offering a unique and varied selection of fine cuisine as well as secure mobile device charging stations.

 

Another dining option can be the charcuterie plate from the Ferrarini restaurant with gluten free salami, Parmesan cheese and accompanied by a glass of wine. Twenty-six top Italian and international chefs will be creating the menu for Identità Golose Expo, with a focus on food quality, contemporary style and typical Italian hospitality. And for those who want to sample biodiversity on the Mediterranean Hill, Slow Food offers the opportunity to taste delicious cheeses and wines.

 

SELF-SERVICE

 

For those who prefer the self-service option, Tracce and ViaVai are the answer, offering guests fresh and authentic products, from snacks to ice cream to traditional dishes as well as a coffee bar. There is also Cir Food, which also includes Tracce and Chiccotosto with 20 dining spots ranging from bars, restaurants and quick service options. It is characterized by a context of sustainable materials and top quality products.

 

BARS AND CAFES

 

Taking a tour around the world among the pavilions requires a break. At Chiccotosto, any time is good for a coffee. While if you just want a snack, you can choose between something sweet or savory. There are selections for the whole family. For a grilled cheese extraordinaire, the timeless sliced ​​bread is combined with gourmet recipes, reinterpreting a fast food formula in new ways. On top of all that, the environment is made richer by a coffee bar and a soft ice cream stand.

 

KIOSKS

 

Davide Oldani, in the kiosk managed in partnership with MyChef, offers his risotto with saffron spirals, an homage from one of Milan’s star chefs at the Universal Exhibition. You can choose to enjoy the typical tigella (a type of small round flat bread) in the Dispensa Emilia kiosk, which is a traditional Tigelleria that combines the pleasure of good food and the quality of typical products from the Emilia region of Italy combined with the modern innovations of fast service, plenty of choices and affordable prices.

 

The Juicebar kiosk is where you can enjoy milkshakes., fruit and vegetable  smoothies,  sandwiches or bagels, and then continue your world tour! Piada & le Bolle is a kitchen-laboratory offering traditional food from San Marino and a glass of champagne, as well as events and tastings open to all.

 

Bread, focaccia, and pizza can be found at the Maria Marinoni kiosk: Here you can sit at a table and enjoy items fresh from the oven along with happy hour starting at 17:00. Grom is represented in a kiosk where it offers a world of gelato and agriculture, healthy habits and natural ingredients, all found in a garden of 250 square meters. Taking place in the shade of a gazebo are presentations from writers and agricultural courses and the open laboratory is transformed into  classroom for gelato lessons.

 

STREET FOOD

 

If street food is your passion, you can choose PoPi-Gusto and Tradizione per Tutti, with a delicious menu and a variety of drinks. Or the traveling pizzeria Ape Pizza, whose specialties are the "panuozzo", a sandwich made with pizza dough and the "pizza a portafoglio", the king of the Neapolitan street food. There are also donuts, montanare (small fried dough pizzas from Naples), fried polenta snacks, eggplant meatballs, and fried spaghetti cakes along with fresh and dried fruit.

 

The Neapolitan tradition is revived with Ape Fritto & Frutta, serving the classic street food “cuoppi”, a paper cone of food to go. There is also the Food Truck Frie'N'Fuie that among its appetizers from the land and sea, presents the Cuoppo of meatballs, made from the  most delicious ingredients. Another choice in street food is Sharky, offering a selection of sea food and Zini Gourmet, the pasta shop that offers many farm to table pasta dishes daily.

 

Expo Milano 2015 marries street food to gourmet cuisine thanks to the food truck Citroen HY The Rolling Star that is hosting the starred restaurant Unico Milano. Here you can try pulled pork, fish gazpacho, salads, vegetarian and vegan smoothies, crepes and sweets to enjoy at breakfast, lunch breaks, snacks, drinks or a late dinner.

 

There is also a category dedicated to light cuisine, for those who prefer not to overdo it or who have food intolerances or allergies. Options range from the kitchen of Gluten Free Fest, the gluten-free leader in Italy that proposes healthy and tasty choices for the celiac population; to Toast & Zuppe that offers a rich menu and a wide selection of beverages in two locations.

 

At Expo Milano 2015, the countries are presenting themselves through a unique experience of their food, wine tasting and typical products that can be found within the restaurants of their Pavilions. Added to the offers from the national pavilions are street food kiosks and stations that honor  the many culinary traditions of the Planet.

 

Not to be missed is meat on the grill, including the Italian Street Burger and the classic American barbecue from BBQ Hooligans. Also available is quinoa, the "mother of all seeds", versatile and gluten free, and offered in a variety of  dishes from Los Granos de mi Tierra. Those who love oriental cuisine may savor the street food from Zen Express and recall the atmosphere of Hong Kong, Shanghai, Bangkok or Singapore with dishes of ramen, noodles, sushi or steamed dumplings.

 

You've just arrived and you want to have breakfast? Or feel like a dessert after lunch? It’s easy to get tempted when the choice is vast and caters to even the most demanding. We go from the sweet street food with chocolate and jam and fresh cereals, wrapped and ready to go (with recipe included) of Miss Mama to the gastronomic specialties of Sweeting by Natfood.

 

If your desire is a cone, it’s impossible not to stop by Grom, which is well represented throughout Expo Milano 2015. In addition to its kiosk, its Sweet Bike offers a selection of flavors made with the best ingredients such as their proprietary cream or vanilla, made with vanilla beans from Madagascar; while the Ape Car, a symbol of Italian design around the world, tours the Exhibition site for those with a sweet tooth.
